Mypoints Paid Email and Shopping Website Review
Mypoints Paid Email and Shopping Website Review
Mypoints is one of my favorite paid email websites. There are so many ways to earn points here it is truly a gem.
Paid (points) Emails. I get about 3 or 4 a day. Each email is worth 5 points. On occasion you get a free offer sign up for an email list or do a survey for extra points usually 10-50 points or so. I have been with them about a year and I am now qualified for a $50 gift card of my choice. To me not bad for a couple of seconds a day.
Shopping -I honestly have not purchased anything through their website. However, this will be a definate consideration come this Christmas season. They offer different point per dollar on different retailers. My points also has a great price comparison product feature. If you are going to buy something online anyways, it is always a good habit to check Mypoints to see if there are any extra incentives
Mypoints credit card. Mypoints is currently offering a 1000 point on first use plus a 1 per dollar spent at any retailer with 6 months 0%. Please note that after the 6 months the interest goes up to a whopping 23.99%. I can see this being a good deal for the fist six months as you could uncounciously earn points on things that you already buy, without any effort. Just mark the date on the calender to pay it off and cut it up.
Payment. Payment is only in gift cards no paypal or checks to be recieved here. The different gift cards have different point values, some are electronic and can be spent immediately, and some are good for brick and morter stores.

I disagree. I had an account with them until recently when out of the blue, they froze my membership. I was almost to the point where I could get a $50 reward and they stopped my account. I have had other friends who have had their accounts disappear overnight as well with no warning and the only reply was that the account never existed. So you make all of their little advertising buddies happy and chase the carrot and then they just maximize their profit by canning accounts before people can get their payout. This has happened to more people that I have heard from than can be coincidence.
ReplyDeleteI have also heard that they shut down accounts in shared computers in dorms. That is crazy, you can't have a shared computer or they think that you are all one person.
But the kick is that they don't close the accounts down until they are just at a reward level. This is great for the advertisers.
Is this another sub prime affair?
I have never had any problems with MyPoints and I have redeemed 2 $25 Target Gift Cards and 1 $25 GameStop Gift Card. I don't know why Rhonda has had a problem? I love MyPoints!
ReplyDeleteWell I am close to getting a $50 card so I am not sure myself yet. Although I am teed off with the Commission Junction/ Mypoints for turning of my advertiser account due to not logging in a certain amount of time. I have not been paid for 1 referral and this blog is on the top of the google ranks for Mypoints review. The mypoints refer a friend program is kinda cheap also. You should be earning for your friends activity instead of a 1 time 100 points or so
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with Alexandra Hancock.
ReplyDeleteI love MyPoints too. This company has a great "paying" history and they have many satisfied users.
MyPoints is one of the best GPT websites around.
WASTE OF TIME!!! I accumulated about 20,000 points, through their emails and through shopping on their site. I was going to redeem the points for $150.00 in gift cards from Bloomingdales but they froze my account. What a scam. They were paid by all of the retailers every time I shopped through mypoints.com but now when it comes time for me to receive my reward they don't pay out.
ReplyDeleteThey used to be good, but I guess this is how they are operating their site now. Perhaps they are doing this because they plan to go out of business and are riding out their last days by not redeeming their members' hard earned points.
MyPoints...FRAUD....they never pay u when u redeem ur much awaited gift card..they r totally FRAUD...and bluntly terminate ur account..for no reason...
ReplyDeleteWell, I figure I should update. I did get my $50 gas card without any problems. But I think the program is getting cheesier and cheesier. I have noticed allot of email from them lately with no points to earn which I equate to spam.
ReplyDeleteIm a loyal Mypoints user but I felt so bad this time. I have collected Footlocker Gift cards and have collected worth $100 only to find out that they are invalid Gift cards :-(. I have email Mypoints and no response.
ReplyDeleteI've been using MyPoints for maybe 6 months now and i have 3,300 points so I'm almost at the $25 level. I was just looking at the rewards to see what I would want and so now I'm trying to get enough points for a Visa pre-paid card. I hope it works...
ReplyDeleteThey are absolutely AWFUL about crediting points for purchases!!! It's a fight every single time and even then they come up with some BS excuse why some minor thing invalidates the points. I just spent close to $1500 through their website that I'm not getting ANY credit for. Now that I've seen the previous couple posts, they will probably cancel my account as soon as they see this posting.
ReplyDeleteI sent my daughter shopping with two $100 Macy's gift cards it took me months to save up, only to find out they were empty. MyPoints said they sent replacements but I never received them.
ReplyDeleteUpdate: it has now been three months and countless emails and not only have I not received valid replacements for the gift cards, they don't even respond to my emails.
DeleteI have to agree with Johanna, they are terrible about crediting points. I keep track and inventory every month. If they don't credit I submit for it, but some times it takes up to six months to get the points. They are so insulting with their replies, "as we told you, we are waiting to hear back from the merchant." Well if their merchants take that long to respond then maybe they shouldn't participate in the program ;-)
